ADULT SOCIAL
CARE
Services in development
Where young people join ATTACH-Manchester after the age of 18, if necessary we can help them access a Care Act assessment directly through Adult Social Care and support them through the process.
Every year, the Adoption Barometer reports that high percentages of parents of adopted children are deeply worried about the future and their young person’s ability to manage independently in adulthood. People with FASD and severe trauma backgrounds may need long-term supported living arrangements. However, much of Adult Social Care assumes that only short-term support to build independence is required.
ATTACH-Manchester are currently developing plans for ways to bridge this gap in provision, and are happy to work with young people, their families, local authorities and NHS integrated care boards to create appropriate provision for specific young people.
